Hello everyone,
Based on the fact that TSW was made by funcom, we are in the right the expect the same use for scripts... And this is the case !

I'm not here to make a tutorial about scripts, because others having a better english than me will make better posts, and because here we don't want to create scripts with links and so on... just to join a few channels. And learn how to do it in approximately 47 seconds.

There is only 5 steps :
1- Locate your TSW folder
(../Funcom/The Secret World)

2- Create a folder called "scripts" inside the TSW folder.
(The path should be something like ../Funcom/The Secret World/scripts)

3- Create a file (no extention needed) called the name you want, better if short.
(Example : "channel" no "channel.something", just "channel" - It doesn't work if there is a .txt or something like that !)
To remove the extention of a file : "Hit Alt in your Scripts folder. Then go to Tools... and Folder Options. Uncheck the Hide File Extension box. " (Adilicia)

4- Open the file with your notepad and write : (no quotes)
"/chat join TSWRP"

4bis- If you want to join multiple chans, just push enter and write another command. Like this :
"/chat join TSWRP
/chat join LFRP
" (<= potential advertising if the channel is created ^_^)

5- In game, just write down /nameofyourfile (For example me : /channel)

6- You've joined your channels. Enjoy. (This is not a step - You may have to retick the chan to activate it in your active tab)

You can do this operation without even closing your game.

So each time you switch zone, log on, etc... Just write the same thing !

EDIT : File available for download if you prefer. If you want to make multiple scrips, just copy/paste it. If you need to edit, save, not save as !

If you have file extension visibility enabled in Windows (Under file and folder options), you can create a text file. Then right click > rename and then simply delete the extension to get a file without .something at the end of it.

If you use the file provided above...

If you modify the file, make sure to Save. Do NOT Save As, as doing so will make Windows automatically tag it with a txt file extension.

If you choose to make your own file...

Windows will tag it as .txt automatically. To remove the file extension, you need to hit Alt in your Scripts folder. Then go to Tools... and Folder Options. Uncheck the Hide File Extension box. Once that's done you can see the .txt extension on your file and by right-clicking and using Rename, you can remove it.
If you don't see the file extension, Renaming won't allow you to change that extension!

Even better, there's "triggered scripts" if you give them the right filename:

auto_login (triggered on login)
auto_teleport (triggered on zoning)

Now, if anyone knows a chat command for subscribing one of the default-y channels like Cabal, I'd be eternally thankful (and no, /chat join Cabal doesnt join Cabal chat, but a custom channel called "Cabal".
